ABOUT US

Field Studies Sanctuary is a nature-based learning and creative outreach project rooted in land, lineage, and lived experience. Our work builds bridges between people and the land, and we honor the original stewards who roamed Montana’s gorgeous landscapes and understood how to be in relationship with her. We carry a debt to them and to the Earth herself, and our work moves in gratitude toward repaying it.

We offer grounded resources and educational tools that support curiosity, stewardship, and sustainable livelihood, carrying traditional knowledge forward with the respect it deserves.

Our work unfolds through three core pillars:

The Apothecary & Learning Kitchen
Plant medicine guides, herbal templates, and food-as-medicine teachings that emphasize practical skills, everyday nourishment, and responsible relationship with plants and food.

The Teaching Garden
Growing from a belief that healing begins in relationship with the Earth, the Teaching Garden will teach plant medicine at its source, in a design built to nourish family and community alike.

The Founding Mothers Project
A creative initiative which will honor women as builders, culture-keepers, and origin points, preserving their storytelling, entrepreneurship, and generational wisdom because their truths deserve to be carried forward.

Together, these pillars form a practical ecosystem of learning, creativity, and care — shaped by the land, informed by experience, and designed for real life.
