Religious Purpose Statement
The Field Studies Sanctuary Sacred Assembly of Soil and Soul (SASS) is a land-based spiritual ministry rooted in the sacred relationship between Earth and spirit. Our purpose is to cultivate a living faith through ceremony, remembrance, community fellowship, and embodied reverence for the natural world.
We exist to honor and uplift the sacred cycles of life, the wisdom of ancestral traditions, and the divine presence woven through all of creation. Through ritual gatherings, plant medicine education, intuitive prayer, sacred music, and seasonal observances, we seek to restore harmony between humanity and the living Earth.
Our faith is expressed through:
Land stewardship as spiritual covenant
Food as sacred communion
Ancestral healing as holy repair
Fellowship as mutual remembrance
Education as a devotional act
We believe the Earth is a living altar, and that every being carries a divine spark worthy of care, dignity, and belonging. We gather not to convert, but to remember — to create sacred space for reconnection, repair, and radical love in action.
SASS is a non-denominational religious fellowship, open to all who feel called to walk in reverence, root in truth, and serve the sacred through embodied practice and communal care.
