Rooted in Wales, grown in Montana. The front of this t-shirt carries a beloved Welsh proverb, “O’r fesen fach y tyf y dderwen fawr,” which means “from the little acorn grows the great oak.” On the back, the Flower Emblem rises from deep roots.

The oak holds a cherished place in Welsh tradition, and the Welsh word for druid, derwydd, is linked to the word for oak. At Field Studies Sanctuary, those roots were growing long before they came into view, and this shirt honors that discovery along with the grandmothers whose strength travels through every generation. It welcomes a time when the matriarchy is seen, heard, and given room to do what she does best.
